A rbb production. The film Die Mauer (The Wall) was shot during the first two weeks after the Berlin Wall went up on 13 August 1961. The original footage shows the mood at various sections of the Wall, personal fates and the protests of the West Berlin citizens. The film depicts propaganda in the eastern sector and reveals the effects the Wall had on Berlin's labor market and retail industry.
